A note on the state of the trunk

The trunk is currently a bit “unstable”. Particular user permissions and management is a bit on the back-burner in leu of other things I need to get in.

The good news is that I’m working on two new very cool features.
The first one is support for multiple repositories and projects, which is already functional to some degree. The multiple projects is part of the things Tom Clarke has been working on his branch, which he has patiently kept merged with the trunk for far too long.

The other thing which will get in this week is a proper events timeline, with support for externals applications being able to “ping” the “abstract” timeline with an event. Useful for keeping a central notification central for things such as a continuos build system, commits, deployments and lots of other fun things.

So, if you’re brave, or just plain old curious, do take the trunk for a spin, if not, you may wish to hold on to your current install for just a bit longer.

  1. Lads, keep up the good work! Sad as it is, I’m not using Collaboa currently but am looking forward to setting up a server of my own in the next weeks along Collaboa.

Pinging-from-outer-space feature sounds cool. How will it work? Sending some XML or plain HTML form data via HTTP or rather ping by email? Just curious :)

  2. I keep thinking how cool it would be to combine hieraki with collaboa. Think about it, the possibilites are stunning.

  3. Hieraki looks terrible. It may be an acceptable idea, but you the way you browse the tree is solved very inelegantly.

When will we see the next release? :)
There is activity on the mailing list, but none on the svn repository.
